In 2080 the Ministry of Physics in an attempt to recreate the ill-fated Slipstream project under more controlled conditions was able to open a gateway to an alternate time-line. A world in which the Omnic Crisis had not happened, but that had its own looming issues in the form of a neglected cyborg population. We are probing and exploring these strange new worlds in our most secure facility.

In an attempt to explore the nature of Intelligence, humanity and higher consciousness, Oasis are proud to announce that we are adding a new member to the children of humanity.
We have begun a program to create uplifted Ravens with a human equivalent intelligence.
The first five of these Neo-Corvids hatched in June of 2079 and are being cared for as wards of the state. We do ask citizens to not disturb them as they go about their studies and please be tolerant of their pranks.
They are each about 50% the mass of a common Raven meaning that when fully grown they can eventually grow to as much as 2kg and 75cm in length and over 1.5 meters in wingspan.
They are
Morrigan - The undisputed Matriarch of the Parliament and often the spokesperson. She has a pale patch near the top of her beak and enjoys loud music.
Huginn - Morrigan's right hand, and chief sneak. He has a fondness for candied oranges and sometimes carries a tiny communicator around his neck.
Orev - Shy but one of the better crafters of the group, he likes computer games and lock picking, he often has a bracelet around his left leg with some micro-tools on it.
Noah - The independent streak, he's often the one to argue with the rest of the group and enjoys pranking the other members, often dies his feathers in subtle ways, like black UV dye patterns.
Al-Idrisa - Slightly smaller than the others of her generation but quite fashion conscious wearing various accessories from necklaces and bangles to impressive outfits. She prefers to stay in the back whilst the others get in to trouble and is quite good at getting back out of trouble again.
We also have two additional clutches which are significantly younger, but we decided to give them some more privacy as they grew up.
As one of the Ministers of Oasis, I have been asked to keep a social media presence.
Here I will be detailing my own research, events and opportunities in Oasis as well as other topics of public interest.

Ministry of Genetics Current Projects
Current principal projects at the Ministry include: Telomere preservation in adults, programmable T-Cell deactivation for immunotherapy, genetic optimisation and biological enhancement and extremophile crop development.
However we also have a number of side-projects ongoing at any one time.
For example a personal field of mine is the study of cellular disassociation events and subsequent re-association.
This is a page for a fictional character from the game Overwatch.

Oasis: A guide to the city
The Green Belt
Surrounding the city is a blooming green belt which protects the area from the harsh sands of the Sahara. The outer-halo is a spreading area of tough drought-resistant grasses and shrubs which gives way to arable land for animal husbandry. Although the majority of Oasis's agriculture is managed by antonymous systems in hydroponic greenhouses. Here you can also find the Oasis Zoological collection the stables and the multi-purpose Oasis international sporting stadium.
The Cornucopia
An area rarely seen by tourists is the manufacturing district known as the Cornucopia. It is a largely underground and highly automated facility that produces high quality manufactured goods for the city above. Although give the scarcity of raw materials, much of this needs to be imported. This is also the home of the Hassoun Fusion Torus which provides the bulk of Oasis's power needs.
Arcology Towers
Whilst these towers may seem small compared to the great edifices of places like Lijiang Tower, these largely residential buildings are Self-contained and largely self-sufficient. Providing accommodation, local shopping, food, entertainment, primary and secondary education and so on. Much of the bulk of the structures exist beneath ground to help mitigate heat, but with simulated climate, lighting and displays most of the spaces are indistinguishable from above ground dwellings. It is here that the majority of Oasis citizens live and work and incorporates internal gardens which help regulate and clean air flow. These self-contained mini-cities can survive all but the worst natural or civil disasters in comfort.
City Centre
This area hosts shops, museums, galleries, cafes and other commercial interests as well as services offered nowhere else in the world such as our gene-clinics and cybernetics centres. The city centre district also boasts the world-famous Gilded Tower Hotel, and the elBuffi restaurant.
Abu Hassoun Gardens - This public space was designed to mirror the Hanging Gardens of Babylon from antiquity. In its grounds you can find; public parks, performance spaces as well as play and dining experiences to suit all tastes.
Oasis University
Whilst the other areas of the city contain their own marvels, the Oasis university represents the crown jewel of the city. A rising tower than houses tens of thousands of under-graduate and post-graduate students at once, it also doubles as the seat of government of the city states.
With all Ministers required to hold a teaching position as well as perform their own private research, they reside on site in personal suites. The world class facilities of the University include speciality laboratories for every major discipline from physics labs housing particle colliders to genetics labs able to perform complete cellular reassembly operations on multiple subjects.
As you might expect the University also houses lecture halls, teleconferencing suites, a sizeable library, recreational spaces and much more. The university only accepts the brightest and most promising students and has produced a wide array of scientific advancements.
Lake Harbour
Adjacent to the University this artificial lake is key to regulating the mild temperatures of the city and is home to a thriving aquatic ecosystem. Regulation of the wind paths and the structure of the city keep the area above the water cool and promotes rainfall which almost completely offsets the diminished loss by evaporation. Here you can take regular cruises on the swan-boats, rent a private craft or swim out to one of the many small beach islands.
Oasis: A guide to the Culture
Oasis is unique in many respects. As an independent city state, the city was originally barren desert before the proto-Ministry of Geology terraformed it in to the paradise it is today.
The land was purchased outright from the Iraqi government in exchange for a large sum of money and a number of valuable patents supplied by our founders.
Now Oasis is one of the few places in the world with no extradition treaties with any other nation on Earth.
Oasis has a nearly unique method of defining its inhabitants:
CitizensWards of the StateGuestsThe process of becoming a citizen is open to both Visitors and Wards of the State and is the focus of the childhood education in Oasis. It involves interviews, examinations and testing of several sub-types of intelligence, knowledge of Oasis, its laws and culture, as well as originality, creativity and emotional maturity.
Because of this, in theory somebody may become a citizen at any age (Although some rights are withheld until the age of 16 for humans). Although for most people it requires the equivalent of a University level education to gain citizenship, meaning that most do not become full citizens until their 20's.
The government is a Constitutional Technocracy with democratic elements and separate Judicial, Legislative and Executive branches.
Public offices such as Ministerial roles are determined by election. However attaining certain goals can grant citizens additional voting power. Some examples of how this may be earned include:
5 years of continuous citizenship in good standing.Holding a social credit rating of over 900 pointsA doctoral degree or equivalentInternational recognition, for example an Olympic medal, Nobel Prize or a similar award. Having performed any act of self-sacrifice for the betterment of the city.
This is always capped at a maximum of 7 votes (and the most votes that any single person currently holds is 5, an honour shared by 13 people at this time.)
Oasis ranks as one of the safest cities due to its usage of advanced predictive surveillance and crime modelling. Although this is true, it is only part of the picture.
Using ubiquitous automated surveillance, the lives of citizens are monitored by systems that check mental and social well-being. This is completely invisible and unobtrusive, but allows systems developed by the Ministry of Social Psychology which attempt to alleviate stress and dissatisfaction before they are even noticeable.
For example if I were to have a bad day at work, the system would notice this and seeing that I had not spent time socialising with peers in the last few days, would check my friends and find somebody who was available after work. It would then offer my friend social credit for attending a shared interest with me whether that be a gym workout or a meal. If they accepted, then I would receive the offer and we would meet up, allowing frustrations to be alleviated seamlessly. For security of citizens, the system is not directly monitored by humans and all data is sanitised before it can be viewed to remove any clues about who the numbers refer to.
Talon
Overwatch and the rest of the world perceives Talon as a dangerous terrorist organisation, one bent on the destruction of humanity, with no greater motivation beyond hatred.
They could not be further from the truth.
Talon was formed in the wake of the Omnic Crisis in recognition of the fact that it was a disaster literally of our own making.
Many people blamed the Omnics for what happened, but it was human hands that built them, armed them and turned them against their creators.
Talon was formed of people initially looking to protect themselves against the next technological transformative event for selfish reasons.
The founders saw that the Omnics were as much victims of this as the humans were and that soon another wave would crash over us all.
New technology is not the threat, human proliferation is.
A nuclear weapon is not a threat to humanity, but hundreds of thousands of them could have wiped us out.
A single petrol engine is not a threat, but the global climate was brought to the edge of collapse by a single corporatocracy trying to build a world system that required that everybody owned them.
A single Omnic is not a threat.
Omnics themselves were not a threat until they were created in vast quantities that rivalled humanity in numbers. On a small scale there would never have been a crisis.
Human greed, pride and fear mean that if a technology gives them an advantage, they will proliferate that technology at any cost.
Large empires are also brittle. When they collapse, they destroy not only themselves, but everybody around them.
The only way to save humanity from its self is two-fold:
1) Keep humanity divided, so that technology does not spread un-checked on a vast scale and Empires can not flourish to the extent that any one loss would bring all of humanity to its knees.
2) Prepare humanity to weather such trials as we are unable to prevent. Make them stronger, more diverse, more resilient by challenging them like a vaccine and not letting them settle in to complacency.
All of this was conjecture until I discovered something unusual in the bloodstream of an American named Gabriel Reyes.
I will list my full findings elsewhere, but in essence the American Government had given him an infusion of nanites from the site of an explosion. This technology was nearly a century ahead of anything that existed at the time and it allowed great and terrible things.
Investigating the site, the scene was filled with exotic radiation, including some used in the Chronal harness of one Lena Oxton, a young cadet of Overwatch at the time.
The samples that the Americans had recovered had been blown back in time from nearly a century in their future and the picture that they painted was grim. A world ravaged by advanced technology. It was confirmation of what Talon had feared.
So we work to prevent that future or delay it for as long as possible. Our models suggest that this is only one of many possible futures.
We need to save humanity from its self, even if we must become monsters to do it.
The Talon Council

Maximilian -
The cryptic Omnic, possibly the founder of Talon. He has access to vast intelligence resources and advanced technology, but answers only to his even more cryptic superior. More disturbingly he is able to hack organic minds with the same ease that Sombra can hack electronic ones and when not trying to blend in with normal society drifts above the floor bolt upright hovering on unseen energies.
Akande Ogundimu -
The Doomfist - Whilst Maximilian may be the oldest of us, Akande is our defacto leader. A passionate and strong-willed person who believes that one-person can change the world.
Gabriel Reyes -
Of all of the inner council Gabriel, the Reaper, has the most focus on Overwatch and its members, for him destroying their organisation was never enough. He wants to finish the job regardless of our other goals.
Sanjay Korpal -
After the fall of Overwatch private investors began to snatch up Overwatch assets in a feeding frenzy. Nobody managed to get a larger piece than Sanjay Korpal who purchased key elements of Blackwatch for his own corporate espionage projects. However some gentle persuasion from Gabriel convinced him to throw in with Talon and become our banker. A mutually beneficial agreement. Especially as he makes an ideal patsy to throw under the metaphorical bus. He works on our interests in Utopaea. An attempt to create a lightning rod for new technologies that could prove disruptive.
Moira O'Deorain -
Oasis is our other lightning rod city and as one of the eight Ministers Moira monitors new technologies and funnels technology to Talon in the guise of field testing.
DNArt
The Oasis Museum of Arts and Sciences is proud to announce an 2 month special exhibition by Oasis University students entitled DNArt which will highlight final year projects by the students to merge art and science seamlessly as one.

Form and Function - New forms of designer pets and unique agricultural products that blend beauty and utility as one.

Moira's pride and joy is her old Valkyrie suit.
Recovered from the remnants of the old Swiss base in Zurich. The facility had been abandoned for years. Too dangerous to use and too volatile to decommission.
However she Angela and some others explored its depths to recover the suit.
Torbjorn Lindholm had intentionally put off maintenance on the suit in
large part due to his antipathy towards Moira and so its repairs had still not been finished by the time Overwatch fell.
However with the elder Lindholm retired, his daughter Brigitte was eager for the challenge and not only finished the repairs of her father, but also upgraded the suit systems and integrated elements of Moira's biotic system as well.
A perfect and deadly raptor equally capable of the tenderest caress or the most brutal of stings.

Pre-Crisis
93 years before Recall (1983)2030 - Stanislav Petrov disobeys orders and fails to report what is believed to be an American Nuclear first strike.
48 years before Recall (2028)Moira O'Deorain born on 6th January 2028
46 years before Recall (2030)2030 - Reliable fusion reactors become commercially available, significantly cutting atmospheric emissions.
40 years before Recall (2036)A disembodied army is found in rural Nevada, the arm seems to flicker in and out of existence and contains disturbing black and purple fluids that seem to be trying to regenerate the now dead arm. It is seized by the US military and secured for research purposes.
36 years before Recall (2040)2030 - UN reports indicate climate change has slowed significantly and shows signs of eventually reverting to normal levels.
The Omnic Crisis
34 years before recall (2042)Omnica Corporation creates the first Omnics and soon Omniums are constructed in multiple countries.
However they are plagued with accusations of failure to meet targets, corruption, fraud and secret projects.
33 years before recall (2043)The US government begins work on a covert Omnium in conjunction with select members of the Omnica corporation called Project IRIS specifically geared towards creating omnics for espionage, infiltration and social manipulation that can impersonate other Omnic models.
31 years before recall (2045)Omnica Corporation investigated for fraud and dissolved; all omniums are decommissioned. Other companies like SST Laboratories step up to fill the void with new Omnic designs.
30 years before recall (2046)Despite being shut down multiple omniums spontaneously re-activate and commence mass construction of assault Omnics. These omnic armies commence assaults in Russia; this is the start of the Omnic Crisis, but it quickly spreads to other nations.
Olivia Colomar who later becomes known as Sombra is born.
29 years before recall(2047)Russian company Volskaya Industries develops the Svyatogor line of manned assault robots in response to the omnic attack.
Germany implements and equips the Crusaders in response to the omnic attack, Reinhardt Wilhelm joins them.
The United States of America implements the Soldier Enhancement Program in response to the omnic attack. With Gabriel Reyes being one of its first test subjects. Most of the initial subjects die or are incapacitated, Reyes is a fortunate exception, rather than extensive cybernetic prototypes he received a sample from the arm found in Nevada in 2036.
28 years before recall(2048)Jack Morrison inducted into the Soldier Enhancement Program and receives enhancements that are built upon the lessons of the previous failed SEP subjects.
The Soldier Enhancement Facility is destroyed by Omnics of the Detroit Omnium, ceasing the production of new Supersoldiers.
International attempts to repulse the omnic assault fail.
The United Nations proposes the formation of the Overwatch strike team in response to the continuing omnic threat.
27 years before recall(2049)Jack Morrison, Gabriel Reyes, Ana Amari, Reinhardt Wilhelm, Torbjörn Lindholm and Liao are recruited as the founding members of Overwatch with Gabriel Reyes as the first Strike Commander. The elite team expands and soon makes significant strides against the Omniums.
Balderich - who was chosen to be part of Overwatch - dies from injuries from fighting a group of B73 Bastions and OR14’s, before his sacrifice he chooses Reinhardt as the one who will take his place in Overwatch. [Honour and Glory Short Cinematic]
26 years before recall (2050)Overwatch's strikes against the omnic command and control structure render the majority of the omnic armies inert.
The Omnic Crisis is declared over. Though sporadic battles continue around the world.
Overwatch commences transition to a peacetime organization; Jack Morison replaces Gabriel Reyes as Overwatch Strike Commander while Gabriel Reyes is shifted to command of the newly-formed Blackwatch.

25 years before recall (2051)Moira examines Gabriel Reyes in more detail and discovers that the enhancements given to him by the SEP are highly advanced nanites which are slowly killing him. She approached Jack Morrison for permission to use human trials as the biotic was instantly fatal in animal subjects. This was denied, so she injected herself with the nanites. She was unable to find a cure but was able to "activate" the nanites and give Reyes conscious control over them, which slowed the decay significantly and granted them both powerful abilities. Along with medication to treat the pain, this stabilised both of their conditions.

23 years before recall (2053)Torbjorn is severely injured during an operation in Istanbul, Turkey, losing his arm.
Brigitte Lindholm is born.
21 years before recall (2055)The Reaper starts appearing in armed conflicts, showing no loyalty to any cause or organization.
Blackwatch captures teenager Jesse McCree in a sting operation on the Deadlock Gang. McCree is given the option of joining Blackwatch instead of being put in prison, and accepts.
20 years before recall (2056)The Zenyatta, Mondatta and Maximillian and created by an unknown Omnium.
Dr Moira O’Deorain is recruited to Overwatch to counter the potential threat of Omnic Bioweapons and to help with research.
Post-Crisis
19 years before recall (2057)Hana Song born.
18 years before recall (2058)A Himalayan monastery of omnics, led by the omnic monk Tekhartha Mondatta, become global celebrities through their efforts to create human-omnic harmony. (reference needed)
17 years before recall (2059)The Australian government gifts the Australian omnium to a local omnic community, displacing many humans including Mako Rutledge.
16 years before recall (2060)The Australian Liberation Front is formed around the core of humans displaced by the Australian omnium and commences direct action against the facility.
An ALF strike sabotages the Australian omnium's fusion core, causing an explosion that irradiates the surrounding bushland.
15 years before recall (2061)Zenyatta departs the monastery to travel the world.
Bastion awakens in the Black Forest. [The Last Bastion Short]
14 years before recall (2062)Specimen: 8, who is referred to as Hammond, is born on the Horizon Lunar Colony as part of their animal research on the moon.
12 years before recall (2065)A rebellion by the uplifted apes of the Horizon Luna colony kills all human staff including Dr Harold Winston. Winston and Hammond escape the Horizon Luna Base and land in Australia. Winston seeks out and eventually joins Overwatch whilst Hammond finds Junkertown.
Dr Ziegler is recruited to head up the Overwatch medical staff.11 years before recall (2065)Efi Oladele born.
10 years before recall (2066)An environmental disaster at Ecopoint: Antarctica forces the facility's staff to enter cryostasis.
9 years before recall (2067)Hanzo attacks and nearly kills Genji before delivering his mortally wounded body to Overwatch. Dr Ziegler and Torbjorn Lindholm however are able to save his life
The Slipstream experimental Jet Fighter go missing during a test flight.
Dr Moira O’Deorain joins Blackwatch due to her in-depth knowledge of Commander Reyes’s condition along with McCree, Genji and Gérard LaCroix
Tracer is later found and stabilized by Winston. The Chronal accelerator is designed.
Blackwatch is first exposed to media scrutiny and political investigations particularly by UN Director Petras.
8 years before recall: The Venice incident (2068)Talon bombs Watchpost Oslo in Norway. Killing dozens of Overwatch personnel. A second bomber attacks the Blackwatch facility in Rome as agents gather to address the threat, badly injuring Gérard Lacroix and killing more agents in the process. A Blackwatch strike team consisting of Moira, Genji, McCree and Reyes are dispatched to capture Antonio Bartalotti in Rialto, Venice. Bartalotti is a senior member of Talon who is believed to be responsible for the bombings. However the mission does not go as planned and Reyes kills Bartalotti instead. After a narrow escape from Venice the strike teams actions become known to the public triggering a major backlash against Overwatch. Doomfist and Maximillian carve up his empire and influence.
7 years before recall: The Null Sector uprising (2069)The Omnic Terrorist group Null Sector take numerous hostages including Tekhartha Mondatta, London's Mayor and over 100 civilians and hold the in a Kings Row power plant. Overwatch launches a mission to free the hostages against the will of the British government and in defiance of the UN director Petras. With McCree gathering intelligence and scouting the area, Reyes and Morrison directing the mission. With Tracer, Torbjorn, Reinhart and Dr Ziegler acting as the strike team. [Uprising event]
The Fall of Overwatch
6 years before recall (2070)Tracer, Reyes, Winston, Ana, McCree, Reinhart, Mercy and Strike Commander Morrison receive their golden IJC medals at a public event.
Captain Ana Amari is believed killed in action by Amélie Lacroix during a hostage rescue mission led by Strike Commander Morrison.
In Havana, Sojourn needs Tracer, Mercy, Winston and Genji to catch and cuff Maximilien.Under interrogation, Maximilien reveals to Overwatch that Doomfist will be in Singapore in three weeks time. [Storm Rising Event]
Winston captures Doomfist in Singapore with assistance from Genji and Tracer.
Inquiries following an unknown incident in Venice, Italy reveals Moira's involvement with Blackwatch to the public.
The United Nations authorizes a secret investigation of Overwatch and Blackwatch. (reference needed)
An explosion destroys Overwatch's Swiss HQ; Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes are believed killed.
The United Nations officially disband Overwatch and ratify the Petras Act.

JanuaryBastion - who had traveled via the Baltic sea - appears in Northern Sweden and encounters the locals. Torbjörn - who had been sent to hunt Bastion down - discovers that Bastion has become more than their programming and takes them in.
FebruaryDoomfist breaks out of a Helix Security International-owned prison, and meets with fellow Talon board member Maximilien. Doomfist causes fellow board member Vialli to fall to his assumed death. Reaper and Doomfist meet with the rest of the board members of Talon. He goes to retrieve the Doomfist gauntlet, and destroys the entire complement of new OR15 defense robots and beating Helix staff who were sent to stop him.
